March 2023 was my first opportunity to meet AI experts when I attended the Mindfest Conference. It was a fascinating exploration of the nature of mind and the future of AI, which has progressed so much since then.

I was challenged at the conference  when I asked the question, at an open discussion, “Can a robot be hypnotized?”.

David Chalmers, the keynote speaker, replied that it was a very good question and asked if anyone knew the answer. No one did but of course I did. The answer is simply ‘NO’. It can hypnotise a human but not the other way round.
